The warmth, the sun, the horse?

So I've had an interesting set of days, and I'll share some interests with you guys. The other day I took my bike out, and I headed south on sedgwick to an interesting area. I've seen it before biking with a class, and even caught glimpses off the train. This area of interest is a section of land, big enough for a large apartment complex, except it's empty, but not completely; Theres a plot of dirt, with hay, and horses. Normally there are about four, but this particular day only held two. One of them was nice enough to come hang out with me.

The horse in the city.
Taking my bike just a little further, I came across and incredible scene. The sun was shining, and Chicago was beaming.

The beaming city.

The spring is comming Chicago! I hope you're ready.

Spring in the city!

So today, I woke up at 2, saw it was beautiful, got some food, grabbed my camera, grabbed my bike, and rode. My bike carried me southward, on sedgwick, and once I got tired I sat down at a park near a school. I started taking some of my first shots here. There were a couple cool people around, so I went out to talk to some of them.

These guys were really cool, and I got a portrait of them.

Just hangin out with some cool people I met.

After I was done, I went around the corner, and found a couple nice pair of buildings to shoot. While I was shooting, some kids stumbled upon me, and we started hanging out. They were great, I let them take some pictures with my camera, and then they all posed for me.

The kids in the neighborhood.

More pictures from todays adventure soon! Check back again later! Untill then, have a great night.

Looking promising...

So things are looking promising! It's 57 degrees out, sunny, warm. I had coffee with an awesome lady yesterday, which really helped pick things up. I know I've been pullin out pictures from spring break still, but they're really good I promise.

New batch of pictures coming soon! The weather this weekend is said to be rainy, but It may give me a good oportunity to get some nice wet spring shots in. Look forward.

Ahhh colorless days.

It's been rainy, and cloudy, and slow. It's only tuesday, but I'm so excited for the weather to get better, and better every week. Due to the mediocre start of this week, I've spent some time reflecting, and so I brought out some more pictures from spring break.

Over my break I visited eastern, I know this strays from Chicago photos, but Charleston, IL has it's own photogenic magic.

Waiting for my train to take me back to Chicago.

Outside of Mattoon station.

Have a great finish to this week, tomorrow, and the next couple days are looking promising.

It's been a weekend...

So it's been a weekend, I'm finishing up my Sunday/starting my Monday, and I was looking throug my recently taken photos, and there's one place that I especially wanna share with you guys today. It's called North Pond. It's in Lincoln Park, just north of the Lincoln Park zoo. On a beautiful day, you can sit anywhere around the pond, relax, feed ducks, spot turtles, ride your bike, or what ever else you like.

This is one of my favorite spots to just hang out and lay around in the city, when you're looking for a nice break from all the industry. This park is also a lot less touristy then spots like say Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and Lincoln Park Zoo.

View facing North from the South end of North Pond.

Fight through the tough weather Chicago; we'll get warm soon.

It's those warm spring days.

Everyone likes the beaches right? We'll most people do. I can say that I enjoy them a lot myself, more so the atmosphere than anything; I actually prefer not to swim. So naturally I would enjoy Lake Michigan, and all it's ice cold beauty. Despite the cold water, people still flock to run/bike/skate along the shoreline, as well as visit the beach with their families. It's a lovely place to go if you're bored, or just looking for a place to hang out. I've got some pictures to share with you guys from North Avenue beach. Enjoi!

Have a great day!

A promise is a promise.

This is a bit of a late post, the clock on my desk is reading 2:11, but I promised newly developed photos for you, and I've got a couple right here for you. As I said before, I rode my bike through the city with my 35mm, and this is part of my adventure...

My bike, just north of North Pond, with a view of the skyline looking south.

The bridge connecting South Pond to North Ave. Beach on the Lake Michigan lake front.

This is just the beginning of my adventure, keep on checking back for some more photos.

Breaks over, back to business.

Alright, so spring break is over (oh no!), I had a great time, but I didn't do a lot of photo posting. I'll tell you what I did instead; I grabbed my bike, 35mm Canon A-1, and rode around the north side of Chicago taking a lot of photos. While I go get those developed let me share some other photos with you...

This is a little diptych I put together from the Flower Garden show at Navy Pier

A waterfall, with smooth black rocks, with pink flowers at the end.

Check back soon for more photos!

And so it begins....

This is the start of my very first Photo Journal! I'm not to sure how exactly to blog this but I guess I'll start with what my goals are for this blog...

First off I wanna give my audience the Chicago experience. I don't just want them to have skyline shots of the city, anyone can give you that, But I want them to feel like they have traveled the city through this blog.

Second I wanna have this blog as a second source for my photography, and to increase the exposure of my own work.

Sounds about right, how about a photo?
